As of January 2019 San Marzano has said goodbye to plastic bottles and glasses: water in water bottles for all staff
And repeating this also helps to keep in mind the objective and commitment to environmental protection, which is our responsibility.
While we are already implementing as environmentally friendly measures as possible in the agricultural sector, since January 2019 all staff have said goodbye to plastic bottles and glasses at the firm and in just one year, it is estimated, we will reduce emissions by around 3,050 kg CO2eq.
We have an average of 100 employees and, considering 1 litre of water per day, we consume 100 bottles per day, which is about 30,500 bottles per year.
By choosing to drink water without using plastic, emissions are cut by more than 90%.
Under last year’s Christmas tree, all San Marzano employees found a stainless steel water bottle: practical, fun, reusable… and now also available for purchase at our shop.
