Reflection on sustainability and on the link with the land is an element that has accompanied San Marzano’s work over the years; today these issues are becoming increasingly central as awareness emerges of the need to quantify and measure the man-nature relationship so that it can improve over time.
In this respect, we are very pleased to have received an award in the production area, namely a certificate attesting to our contribution to reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere by using cork stoppers instead of plastic or aluminium ones.
According to consultancy and auditing firms PricewaterhouseCoopers and EY, San Marzano, thanks to the use of natural cork stoppers, has contributed to the block of 313.59 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere in one year.
This is just one of the elements that attest to San Marzano’s commitment to sustainability, a road that may be uphill but is now the only one that can be followed for the benefit of all.
