Talò Susumaniello Salento IGP
Talò, a surname, to collectively thank the farmers of San Marzano who, with their families, look after each vineyard as if it were their own garden. Talò, a collection of different varieties; a symbol of a community.
Talò Susumaniello Salento IGP is a red wine of refined character, crafted from Susumaniello grapes — one of Salento’s most distinctive native varieties, once rare and now rediscovered for its natural elegance. It seduces with aromas of crisp red fruits and small dark berries, and envelops the palate with defined tannins, lifted by a lively freshness that gives the sip energy and length.
Characteristics
Susumaniello
In French and American oak barrels for 6 months
Wine with a floral and fruity olfactory profile, enriched with spices and light balsamic notes. The colour is a deep, bright red. The well-defined tannic texture supports its potential for ageing in wood. On the palate it is structured but elegant, with a pleasant acidity and a balanced aftertaste.
It pairs well with light braised meats, roast veal and slow-cooked but not too rich meat dishes. The good tannic texture supports Mediterranean red ragout, lasagna and baked pasta. Its aromatic aftertaste goes well with moderately aged cheeses and traditional Puglia rustic dishes.
