In 1962, in San Marzano di San Giuseppe, a very small town in the province of Taranto, 19 tenacious vinegrowers created a small cooperative winery. Little did they know what the future would hold for them.
Today the cooperative celebrates the passing of 60 years since its foundation. This particular number holds special significance for the company as the wine that has given San Marzano fame throughout Italy and also abroad is the Sessantanni (Sixty years) Primitivo di Manduria DOP.  Originating from the fabulous heritage of bush-trained vines, a traditional Apulian system, which are over sixty years old, it is one of San Marzano’s most iconic labels.
Cantine San Marzano celebrated this important milestone together with customers, friends and partners from Italy and abroad, all of whom were invited to an exceptional birthday. In fact, the company chose to celebrate by organising a concert by an internationally renowned Italian artist, Zucchero Fornaciari, who brought his unforgettable show right to San Marzano di San Giuseppe, on a stage set up for the occasion in the courtyard of the production plant, which for one evening became a proper concert venue.

A wonderful and unforgettable evening dedicated to those who have contributed to writing the most beautiful pages of this SIXTY-YEAR history.
